The Quran is the final book of Holy Scripture that Allah sent to mankind. It is the last book of Holy Scripture that Allah sent to us, after sending the Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospels. The previous revelations in their original forms contain the same message as the Quran. Muslims believe that the Quran completed and abrogated all of the previous books and revelations which came before it such as the Torah, Psalms, Gospels, etc… The Muslims believe in all of these revelations (in their original form) and believe in all of the messengers and Prophets which Allah sent, starting from Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and the final prophet Muhammad. The Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over 1400 years ago and still remains in its original form, free from alterations and changes. This is one of the most distinguishing features of the religion of Islam and the main source the Muslims depend upon for understanding their religion.
The Quran teaches mercy, forgiveness, justice, peace, accountability for oneself and one's deeds, monotheism, morality, honesty and truthfulness, to oppose oppression, transgression and injustice. The Quran is a book of guidance that explains how people should live their lives. The Quran appeals to logic, following clear reasoning and citing evidences from the created universe, from history and from the human soul to establish not only the existence of Allah but also His uniqueness and absolute perfection.
The Quran is the literal word of Allah verbatim. It is regarded by Muslim as well as non-Muslim historians and scholars as the most authentic religious text that exists today. There is only one version of the Quran; the same revealed words continue to be read, recited and memorized by millions of Muslims all throughout the world.
The main purpose of the Quran is to guide humanity as to how one should relate to his Creator, his fellow human beings, and to the creation in general.
One can fully experience his human worth and his special purpose among other created beings.
